Sea Chickens

Today was a “meander day” - we had an overall goal of visiting the Shinagawa Aquarium and the Ohi (horse) Racecourse, but we were in no rush to fulfill those objectives. We found an affordable little restaurant for lunch and ducked in and out of knick-knack shops. There’s a surprising number of clay pots shaped like owls, so I’m assuming there’s a conspiracy here somewhere.

We took the trains-and-monorail like masters to get down to the aquarium and only backtracked three times before we successfully figured out which direction was North.

There’s a neat garden in front of the Shinigawa aquarium that had little “exercise challenges” along the path, such as “can you do a push-up on this rail” or “can you do a chin-up here”.

There was a sick dolphin show running after we went through admission. A lot of flips, hoop-jumping, and overall being rad. Keep it up, dolphins.

We were too entranced by the dolphins to take more than one photo - this is it
You know when Kirby eats a spiky monster?

Other critters of note: sea-chickens (penguins?) and sea-doggos (sea lions?).

The sun was fully out when we walked to the horse racing track.

I can’t say that I was too pumped about the horses, but Makayla got some photos of them doing horse things. Cool.

Shout-out to Shaw Internet for resetting my home server’s internet while I was away, making me spend the first couple hours of my morning fixing it. Good timing bois.
