I Am Firefighter
My sister Makayla is a firefighter in our glorious motherland of Canada, so we had to track down a Tokyo fire station to see how neat it is.
Makayla and I care a little too much about infrastructure, so we noticed some other weird differences from the homeland - such as fire hydrants being entirely underground, but being visible by these big red poles:
There’s a lot of external power lines too - apparently Makayla cringes at the thought of servicing those.
We meandered to the Imperial Palace Area - a park in the Center of Tokyo. As always, it was pretty rad to cruise down different alleyways.
For the amount of people walking around, the streets are incredibly clean, and the city doesn’t have that asphalt/gasoline smell that Vancouver has. Maybe the greenery everywhere helps with that, or perhaps the wind blows the city smells away?
Don’t be concerned: Tokyo is still a city:
The Imperial Palace area was super tourist-y, but still cool beans. There’s a lot of statues of horses pretending to be majestic.
We ran into some big ‘ol puppers though so I can still rate it 5 stars
