Da Beach

I started the morning by visiting Yodobashi Camera to see all the fun electronics. I was hoping to find some super slick deals to consider buying here, but things were mostly more expensive than back home, weirdly enough. It’s a massive building though, with 9 floors, each of them the size of a medium-sized retail store. Crazy! I grouped back up with Makayla and we “planned” a trip to the Onjuku beaches, but I didn’t plan trains properly.

Sea Chickens

Today was a “meander day” - we had an overall goal of visiting the Shinagawa Aquarium and the Ohi (horse) Racecourse, but we were in no rush to fulfill those objectives. We found an affordable little restaurant for lunch and ducked in and out of knick-knack shops. There’s a surprising number of clay pots shaped like owls, so I’m assuming there’s a conspiracy here somewhere. We took the trains-and-monorail like masters to get down to the aquarium and only backtracked three times before we successfully figured out which direction was North.

Base Point

I’ve been following the Tofugu website/blog thing to provide hints for what I can and should do while in Japan. Today, I figured it was time to nerd out and visit a co-working space to compare the experience to Canada. Tofugu had a post specifically about a location called Base Point, and after a couple minutes of research, it seemed like one of the only co-working options that allowed renting the space at a smaller granularity than just per-month.
