McKyoto

This morning we took a Shinkansen (bullet train!) to Kyoto. After dropping off our stuff at our hotel, we decided to branch out in “transit expertise” and take a bus or two (rather than just trains like in Tokyo). Kyoto is a really nice city with a significantly different aesthetic than Tokyo. There’s way less skyscrapers (most buildings seem to have ~4 floors) and there’s 90% less black suits. Additionally, there’s way more tourists - probably because it’s such a neat-o city.

Fun in the Rain

Makayla and I were super boring today. We literally took zero (0) photos and just had a relaxing Tokyo Sunday. She “went for a rip” to a spa while I bussed to Shinjuku to hang out at Base Point again. I bugged the Mozilla Japan guys to see if I could harass their office, but it’s only open “to community” on Saturdays from 1pm-6pm. Depending on how much free time we have before our flight, maybe I’ll drop in for a bit next weekend.

Fun in the Sun

Today we travelled to Fuji-Q Highland, an amusement park near Mount Fuji. We went on two rollercoasters that broke Guinness World Records. While going up one of them, my harness was wiggling (while Makayla’s was not), so I was 76% sure that I was going to die. Fortunately, I didn’t, so I’m calling it a solid 4 outta 5 stars of Jelp (Like “Yelp”, but in “Japan”, but said with the nordic “ya” sound.
